THE BIG KNIT 2010

Fancy helping older people keep healthy this winter? 

Age Concern Peterborough is delighted to announce that the Big Knit will be taking place again in 2010. We’re currently getting our hats in a row but we wanted to share this news with you because we’re pretty excited, and we know that some of you are itching to get started.

We have big plans this year. We’re aiming to knit in the region of 10,000 hats.  To keep things nice and simple, we’ll only need hats for the little bottles.

Here’s some other things we thought you might like to know:

How is the money raised?

For every behatted bottle sold, 25p will be donated to Age Concern Peterborough. Simple as that.

Where should I send my hats to?

Send your knitted hats to us here at The Lindens, 86 Lincoln Road Peterborough with your name and address and we’ll make sure we’ll pass them on.

Well, seeing as you asked so nicely, here’s a guide and some patterns to get you started:

Fundraising

Our work to improve the quality of later life in Peterborough is growing. The need for a wide range of trusted services and support will become even more vital as we live longer. We need your help to be able to fund what we do.

You can raise funds for us in your own community. There are many fun ways to do this.

Other Ways You Can Help

Make a donation or remember us in your will.

You may feel that fundraising is not for you but you would still like to help. Any donation, however small, is precious to us and makes a difference. It is one way to say thank you that is really appreciated. 

Making a will is an important part of planning for the future and we would encourage everyone to do it.

Your will is not just for your sake, but for your family and those who will deal with the arrangements after your death.

It is also a useful way of leaving a lasting legacy and supporting causes that are important to you.

Donate goods to our local shops at Bretton, Werrington or Millfield.
